DOT Region 2 Conducts Regional Capacity Building For Unified Travel Agencies And Tour Operators
The Department of Tourism (DOT) Region 2 conducted the Regional Capacity Building for the Unified Region 2 Travel Agencies and Tour Operators Association at NGN Hotel, Tuguegarao City, aimed at strengthening the capabilities of tourism stakeholders in marketing, digital transformation, and compliance with tourism accreditation standards.

A key component of the activity was “Tourism Marketing and Digital Essentials 101,”delivered by Ms. Ally Apple Allison, who provided participants with practical insights on strengthening their digital presence, promoting tourism products and services, and utilizing digital platforms as tools for market engagement and business development.

The activity also featured an Orientation on DOT Accreditation, providing travel agencies and tour operators with relevant information on accreditation requirements, standards, procedures, and the importance of compliance in ensuring quality and reliable tourism services.

The activity was led by Regional Director Troy Alexander G. Miano, underscoring the Department’s commitment to building a more capable, coordinated, and inclusive tourism industry in Cagayan Valley.
Participating in the capacity-building activity were DOT-accredited travel agencies and tour operators from across the region, together with Provincial Tourism Officers, reflecting the importance of strengthened collaboration between the national government, local tourism offices, and private tourism stakeholders.

The initiative further supports the establishment and institutionalization of a unified and inclusive association of DOT-accredited travel agencies and tour operators in Region 2, providing a platform for collaboration, professional development, tourism marketing, and greater participation in travel fairs, exhibits, and other promotional opportunities.
Through initiatives such as this, DOT Region 2 continues to empower its tourism stakeholders with the knowledge, skills, and networks necessary to promote competitive, digitally ready, and sustainable tourism enterprises across the region.
