DOT Region 2 Concludes Continuing Education Training on Personality Development for Tour Guides and Agri-Farm Representatives
The Department of Tourism (DOT) Region 2, in partnership with the Provincial Government of Cagayan, successfully concluded the 20-hour Continuing Education Training on Personality Development from July 14–16, 2026 at the Cagayan Farm School and Agri-Tourism Center in Anquiray, Amulung, Cagayan.
A total of 45 participants, composed of accredited tour guides from the municipalities of Baggao, Peñablanca, Gonzaga, Amulung, Santa Teresita, and Alcala, together with agri-farm representatives from the Department of Agriculture, completed the three-day training aimed at enhancing professionalism, communication, customer service, and interpersonal skills—key competencies in delivering memorable and high-quality visitor experiences.
The training featured interactive lectures, workshops, and experiential learning sessions facilitated by Ms. Gretchen A. Jallorina, who emphasized that personality development is an essential foundation for effective tour guiding and excellent customer service. Participants also took part in practical presentations and a site visit within the Cagayan Farm School and Agri-Tourism Center, allowing them to apply their learning in an actual tourism setting.
As part of the program, DOT Region 2 also conducted the on-site submission of accreditation renewal requirements, enabling participants to conveniently process the renewal of their tour guide accreditation.
The initiative was fully supported by DOT Regional Director Troy Alexander G. Miano and Governor Hon. Edgar B. Aglipay, represented by Ms. Salud B. Vitug, underscoring their shared commitment to continuously developing competent, confident, and service-oriented tourism frontliners.
