Australian Cruise Guests Explore the Beauty of Palaui Island
Australian guests aboard the Coral Geographer successfully made their landing at the pristine shores of Palaui Island in Santa Ana, Cagayan, during the vessel’s second day of cruising. Greeted with warm hospitality, the visitors were toured by community guides and members of the Palaui Island Environmental Protectors Association (PEPA), who shared the island’s rich stories, diverse ecosystems, and award-winning conservation and ecotourism practices.

During their visit, the guests explored key natural attractions and experienced firsthand how the community’s sustainable tourism model helps protect Palaui’s unique landscapes while providing livelihood opportunities for local residents. Many expressed admiration for the island’s unspoiled beauty and the community’s commitment to preserving it.

This successful cruise call was made possible through the close collaboration of the Department of Tourism Region 2, Travel People, Wallem Philippines, Cagayan Economic Zone Authority, Protected Area Management Board, Philippine Coast Guard and the Local Government Unit of Santa Ana. The coordinated effort demonstrates the region’s strengthened push to position Cagayan as an emerging cruise and eco-adventure destination in the Philippines.
The visit of the Coral Geographer underscores the growing confidence of international cruise operators in bringing visitors to Northern Luzon and highlights ongoing efforts to create meaningful, community-based tourism experiences that benefit both travelers and local stakeholders.#
