Santa Ana Guides Level Up through DOT Region 2
ContThe Department of Tourism (DOT) Region 2 successfully implemented its Continuing Education Program: A Seminar on Personal Development and Phone Photography for local tour guides from the Palaui Environmental Protected Association (PEPA) and the Buwacag Environment Tourism Association (BETA) in Santa Ana, Cagayan, on October 22–24, 2025.
The three-day, twenty-hour capacity-building activity, held at Nassim Hotel and Beach Resort, was designed to strengthen the professional competencies, confidence, and creativity of community-based tour guides, recognizing their vital role as the welcoming face of the tourism industry.
Professional trainer and resource speaker Ms. Gretchen Jallorina facilitated the Personal Development module, highlighting the importance of self-awareness, effective communication, and positive work ethics in ensuring quality tourism service and guest satisfaction.
Complementing this, Content Creator and Influencer Mr. Norway Saludares, widely known as NorwayKenJesus, conducted an engaging Phone Photography Workshop, where participants learned practical techniques in visual storytelling using mobile devices. The session concluded with a hands-on field exercise, enabling the participants to creatively capture the scenic attractions of Santa Ana and the surrounding areas.
The initiative underscores DOT Region 2’s continuing commitment to empowering local tourism stakeholders through education and training programs that promote professional growth, community participation, and sustainable tourism development.
DOT Region 2 expressed its appreciation to the Local Government Unit of Santa Ana and its partner tourism associations for their active collaboration and support, reaffirming the shared vision of building an inclusive, resilient, and high-quality tourism industry across the Cagayan Valley Region.#
