DOT Region 2 Brings Cagayan Valley Experiences to the 37th Philippine Travel Mart

The Department of Tourism (DOT) Region 2 joined the 37th Philippine Travel Mart (PTM), which officially opened today, September 4, at the SMX Convention Center in Pasay City, bringing the diverse tourism experiences, creative traditions, and distinctive flavors of Cagayan Valley to one of the country’s biggest travel trade events.

A major highlight of the DOT Region 2 pavilion is its Creative Nook, where visitors can witness and participate in a free live demonstration on the traditional craft of creating fossilized flowers. The interactive showcase provides guests with an opportunity to learn about the creative process while gaining a deeper appreciation for the region’s emerging creative tourism products.

Complementing the creative showcase is a food product display featuring homegrown products from various provinces, cities, and municipalities across Region 2. Among the featured products are the G&B Food Products from Bagabag, Nueva Vizcaya; fruit wines of Sanchez Mira, Cagayan; Big Brother Cornick of Cauayan City, Isabela; pastillas of Ilagan City; longganisa and Chicharabao of Tuguegarao City, Cagayan; banana chips and cropek from Quirino; and local kakanin from Ballesteros, Cagayan.

The pavilion’s design likewise highlights the region’s rich natural and cultural tourism assets. Its concept draws inspiration from Baggao’s waterfalls and cave systems, complemented by a representation of a homestay that reflects the warmth of Cagayan Valley communities. The design also incorporates the region’s signature lighthouse, symbolizing the diverse destinations and experiences that continue to guide travelers toward the northern Philippines.

Tourism officers and representatives from the different provinces, cities, and municipalities of Cagayan Valley were also present during the opening day to lend their support and help promote their respective destinations, products, and tourism experiences.

Through its participation in the 37th Philippine Travel Mart, DOT Region 2 continues to strengthen the promotion of Cagayan Valley as a destination where nature, culture, creativity, and local flavors come together, inviting travelers to discover the many experiences that await in the region.

The Philippine Travel Mart runs from September 4 to 6, 2026, providing an avenue for tourism stakeholders and destinations from across the country to connect with travelers, industry partners, and the travel trade.
