DOT Region 2 Participates in 5th International Gray-Faced Buzzard Summit in Japan
The Department of Tourism (DOT) Region 2, in partnership with the Provincial Government of Quirino, successfully conducted the Barangay Tanod sa Turismo Training Program on August 26–29, 2025, at the Watersports Complex, Cabarroguis, Quirino.




The four-day training aimed to build the capacity of barangay tanods as frontliners in ensuring tourism safety, security, and service excellence. The initiative also supported the government’s thrust to strengthen community participation in tourism development under the vision of Bagong Pilipinas.




The training commenced with a topic on Filipino Brand of Service Excellence Seminar, which highlighted Filipino values, guest service, and service recovery. It continued with discussions on the local and regional tourism situationer, customized first aid, and ecotourism were also presented.




This was followed by sessions led by the Philippine National Police, which focused on tourist safety, human rights, gender sensitivity, crisis management, and first response protocols. On the final day, participants gained insights into crime statistics, child-safe tourism, and a workshop on strengthening tourism safety and security.
The Barangay Tanod sa Turismo Training Program underscored the strong partnership among DOT Region 2, the Provincial Government of Quirino, law enforcement agencies, and local stakeholders in fostering a secure and hospitable environment for both tourists and communities.#
