DOT North Luzon Regions Lead the Successful Opening of the 4th North Luzon Travel Expo
The Department of Tourism (DOT) Region 2, serving as the main host, successfully opened the 4th North Luzon Travel Expo (NLTE) at SM City Tuguegarao on October 3, 2025. The event was held in collaboration with co-hosting regions—DOT Region 1, Region 3, and the Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR)—uniting the tourism stakeholders of Northern Luzon in a celebration of culture, collaboration, and sustainable tourism.

Representing Tourism Secretary Christina Garcia Frasco was Undersecretary Myra Paz Valderrosa-Abubakar, who delivered the Secretary’s message of support and optimism for the region’s tourism growth. Secretary Frasco’s video message was also presented during the program, expressing her appreciation for the collective efforts of the Northern Luzon regions in advancing tourism development despite her official duties in Cebu.

The opening ceremony was further graced by the presence of Assistant Secretary Judilyn Quiachon, Mayor Maila Rosario Ting-Que of Tuguegarao City, and Cagayan Governor Edgar Aglipay De Leon (Ret.), who all extended their warm welcome to the guests, exhibitors, and participants. Presidential Adviser for Northern Luzon, Assistant Secretary Ana Carmela Remigio, likewise delivered her message of support, underscoring the importance of regional cooperation in boosting domestic tourism.

A highlight of the ceremony was the official launch of the North Luzon Tourism Jingle, performed through a lively dance presentation by the AriTau Folkloric Society. The event also featured the symbolic planting of seeds and the unveiling of the event centerpiece, showcasing the cultural bearers and tourism champions of Northern Luzon—symbols of the region’s vibrant identity and unity.

Despite the unfavorable weather conditions, the 4th North Luzon Travel Expo drew an enthusiastic crowd, with visitors flocking to experience the diverse tourism offerings, local products, and cultural showcases from across the participating regions.#
