DOT Region 2 Salutes Past Leaders and Pioneers During Inspiring Year-End Assessment

The Department of Tourism, Region 2 (DOT Region 2) gathered to honor the invaluable contributions of past regional directors, officers-in-charge, and pioneer employees during its year-end assessment held at the DOT-Regional Office 2 in Carig Sur, Tuguegarao City, Cagayan.

Led by the incumbent Regional Director, Troy Alexander Miano, the event gathered esteemed personalities, including former Regional Directors Virgilio Maguigad and Fanibeth Domingo. A poignant moment unfolded as Mr. Marlowe Santos, son of the first Regional Director Conchita Santos, graciously accepted the posthumous award bestowed upon his late mother, recognizing her enduring legacy and profound impact.

In a significant nod to the dedicated individuals who laid the foundation of the DOT Region 2, pioneer employees were acknowledged for their unwavering commitment. Many of them continue to contribute to the success of the department, underscoring their lasting influence.


One of the highlights of the celebration was the retirement program for Supervising Tourism Operations Officer Imelda Garduque, who dedicated an impressive 40 years of service to the DOT-Regional Office 2. The event paid tribute to her remarkable career, marking the end of an era while celebrating her invaluable contributions to the organization.
