DOT hosts Regional Tourism Assembly and Press Conference

The Department of Tourism, Region 2 hosted a Regional Tourism Assembly and Press Conference at the Isabela Zen Hotel, Santiago City last March 18, 2021.
The Regional Tourism Assembly was conducted to raise awareness on tourism programs that will restore the confidence to move forward in the new normal and to be ready for tourism re-opening. It also aims to generate valuable feedback and ideas from industry stakeholders in crafting various tourism projects in the region.
The Regional Office presented the various tourism updates, programs accomplishments on Market and Product Development, Industry Training, Standard and Regulation and Statistics.
During the Open Forum, the participants were able to articulate their concerns particularly in the accreditation of tourism enterprises. They also raised their concerns in the operation of non-accredited Travel Agencies and Tour Operators who allow Do-It-Your (DIY) own travel arrangements.
A Press conference was also conducted to amplify the efforts of DOT-Region 2 in terms of Farm Tourism programs. The four featured DOT- accredited farms are Manalo-Taguba Eco-Park in Isabela, Caranguian Integrated Farm in Cagayan, JLP Farm in Quirino and Courage Mountain Farm in Nueva Vizcaya. The owners presented their respective products and services and highlighted the unique features of their farms. These were the farms chosen by the DOT-Region 2 in the launching of Kulinarya: Farm Food Fun Festival in the valley provinces.
During the press conference, the Department of Tourism, Region 2 discussed tourism matters that will ensure the safe and comfortable travel of tourists in the region.
The Regional Tourism Assembly and Press Conference was attended by a total of 250 participants composed of various tourism industry stakenoiders, med a and the different Provincial, City and Municipal Tourism Officers in Region 2.
