LGU Sta. Teresita and DOT Inaugurates Tourism Business and Information Center

The local government unit of Sta. Teresita, Cagayan inaugurated today, November 24, its Tourism Business and Information Center building located in the public market area. The construction project is under the Bottoms-Up Budgeting Program of the Department of Tourism, Region 2 with an amount of Three Million Pesos.

According to Sta. Teresita Municipal Mayor Rodrigo De Gracia, the building will house all tourism information and trade products that will showcase the tourism potentials of the town. It will also serve as briefing area for tourists coming to Sta. Teresita once the town opens to tourists in the New Normal.

The tourism potential of Sta. Teresita include its internationally acclaimed caves, endemic Bakong plant and its by-products, Bangalow Lake with potential for boating and bird watching and the famous Namunit hills. Sta. Teresita is also home to the biggest shrimp farm in North Luzon exporting an average of 11 tons of Vannamae shrimp.

The inauguration and blessing of the Tourism Business and Information Center building was witnessed by the DOT Region 2 Officer-In-Charge Fanibeth Domingo.
