Typhoon Mangkhut, (local name TyphoonOmpong) once it enters Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR)on 12 September, is expected to traverse extreme Northerneastern Luzon starting 15 September according to PAGASA forecasts. Early effects of the typhoon will be felt starting 14 September.


It is strongly recommended that non-essential travel be postponed to northern parts of Cagayan province, and the northern Philippine islands of Batanes, island municipalities of Calayan, including Palaui Island of Sta. Ana, and Fuga Island of Aparri, both in Cagayan starting September 14.


Everyone is enjoined to monitor instructions and advisories of local government units, PAGASA, and reputable media organization units to make informed decisions should travel be unavoidable to southern parts of Cagayan,Isabela, Nueva Vizcaya, and Quirino.




The next travel advisory will be issued on 14 September 2018.
