DOT Supports DA Agribusiness Ventures

The Department of Tourism Cagayan Valley Region witnessed the recent Awarding of Technology Transfer Certificates and Signing of Licensing and Marketing Agreements between the Department of Agriculture (DA R2) and eight technology takers of various technologies developed by the DA R2.

 

As business owners, the privates sector technology takers will gain in the technology developed by the Department of Agriculture by producing various products to be supported by the raw materials produced by farmers and fisherfolks in Region 2.

The agribusiness products are dehydrated vegetables for Pinakbet, mushrooms noodles and mushroom seasoning, red rice coffee and biode-wormer for hogs and goats, pandesal, rice puffs and other products made from brown rice.

 

According to DAR RFO2 Regional Director Narcisso Edillo, the agriculture sector stayed positive during the pandemic. RD Edillo added that the program aims to sustain the partnership between the agriculture sector, business sector and various regional line agencies to promote business and resiliency of the communities.

The DA Agribusiness and Marketing Assistance Division (AMAD) through its partnership with DOT Region 2 also launched its Proudly Cagayan Valley Products Pasalubong box last year.
