DOT REGION 2 KICK-STARTS PHILIPPINE MOTORCYCLE TOURISM A REGIONAL INITIATED RIDE IN YOUR VALLEY OF FUN
The Department of Tourism, Cagayan Valley Region will kick start the Philippine Motorcycle Tourism: A Regional Initiated Ride in the Valley of Fun UP North (FUN) on April 25, 2022. The PMT project is supported by the Tourism Promotions Board (TPB) and will kick off at the Magat Dam Tourism Complex, Barangay Aguinaldo, Municipality of Ramon, Isabela.
The PMT Caravan was conceptualized to bring organized motorcycle enthusiasts from the four valley provinces of the Cagayan Valley Region, namely: Cagayan, Isabela, Quirino and Nueva Vizcaya. The caravan aims to promote and highlight the major landmarks of the Provinces of Isabela and Cagayan in order to re-open and boost the region’s tourism and travel.
The participants will visit identified landmarks and cultural tourist destinations in the valley and will also participate in pilgrimage activities in support of our county’s Quincentennial celebration. In support to this project will be the visit to various farm sites that offer slow-food culinary as a way to promote and increase awareness of the region’s culinary products and services offered at the farm sites.
The PMT caravan is envisioned to spur inter-regional travel, taking into consideration the New Normal protocols set by the identified and participating municipalities, cities and provinces in the valley. The local government units will be encouraged to re-open for tourism and travel not only for tourists to enjoy the outdoors but also the region’s unique cuisine, culture and heritage.
DOT and TPB are hopeful that the launch of the PMT will help kick start domestic tourism and the local economy in the new normal, as motorcycle riders take the lead in promoting the region’s tourist spots, assisting local businesses and tour operators recover from the pandemic’s impact on their livelihood.#
