DOT Region 2 holds Kulinarya 2022: Farm Food Fun Festival
The Department of Tourism, Region 2 launched the Kulinarya 2022: Farm Food Fun Festival at JLP Farm at Barangay Maria Clara, Diffun, Quirino last February 9, 2022.
The Kulinarya Festival gathered all owners and managers of accredited farm tourism sites in the valley provinces to experience the farm- to- table products and services of JLP Farm.
Kulinarya Festival was staged in the Province of Quirino to highlight the province’s farm tourism sites. These farms showcase their culinary potentials, farm activities, farm produce and promote the slow-food culinary trend in support of the Quirino: Your Basket of Happiness tourism circuit.
This project by the Department of Tourism, Region 2, aims to tap the participation of farm owners and chefs who will give justice to heirloom recipes and/or provide exciting dishes from their local crops and livestock.
The program brings to the consciousness of the general public that the slow-food culinary trend promotes local food, its traditional preparation, as well as protection of the environment.
During the program, the Department of Tourism, Region 2 awarded a Certificate of Appreciation and a Twenty- Four Thousand Five Hundred pesos worth of Kitchen Start-up Package to the management of JLP Farm.
The event at the JLP Farm started with a Eucharistic celebration presided over by Reverend Father Jaime Noto. Present in the event were Provincial Tourism Officer Aurea Martinez who represented Governor Dakila Cua, Executive Assistant to the Mayor, Ms. Luz Magpayo and Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Officer and concurrent Tourism Officer EnP Jesie Delio Vaquilar who represented Mayor May Calaunan of Diffun, Quirino.
Also in the event were various Farm Owners and Managers, Tourism Officers and members of Tourism Councils and the media in the provinces of Cagayan, Isabela, Quirino and Nueva Vizcaya. Micro Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) were displayed their products for sale at a very affordable price.
The last leg of the Kulinarya 2022: Farm Food Fun Festival for this month will happen at the Courage Integrated Farm in Bayombong, Nueva Vizcaya on February 11, 2022.
It is also noteworthy to mention that the Department of Tourism, Region 2 has staged the same program last year featuring the Caranguian Integrated Farm in Iguig, Cagayan and the Manalo-Taguba Eco Park in Angadanan, Isabela. Both farms are now being visited by hundreds of visitors making farm tourism trips not only a family affair but also a must-do recreation activity for people from all walks of life. #PRKulinarya2022
