DOT-Region 2 conducts Consultation Workshop for the Formulation of GAD Agenda
The two-day consultation workshop was participated by tourism officers and private stakeholders from the Provinces of Nueva Vizcaya, Quirino, Isabela, Cagayan, and the Cities of Ilagan, Cauayan, Tuguegarao and Santiago.
During the workshop, the participants identified and presented the various gender issues in their respective organizations. They were also given the task of identifying relevant projects, programs, and activities to address the gender issues they identified.
This undertaking is in line with the gender mainstreaming efforts of the DOT to integrate gender perspective in all its programs, activities, and projects.
The consultation workshop with regional stakeholders is essential for participatory and inclusive governance as it provides a sense of empowerment to stakeholders in tourism planning and policy making.
Ms. Mary Jean A. Camarin, a licensed Environmental Planner and a certified technical adviser on gender and development by the Philippine Commission on Women was the Resource Person for the two-day consultation workshop in the region.
The activity was conducted in partnership with the GAD Secretariat of the DOT-Central Office. A total of 65 male and female participants have completed the two-day consultation workshop.#GADCOnWork2022
