DOT Inks Memorandum of Agreement with LGU Santa Ana

The Department of Tourism (DOT) entered into a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with the Local Government Unit of Sta. Ana, Cagayan on February 19, 2021 for a Php1.603 Million worth of Domestic Tourism Projects.

The MOA is for the implementation of the Domestic Tourism Circuit Development Project of the Department of Tourism. The project aims to facilitate the revival of domestic tourism and for the implementation of tourism programs and projects in the area in preparation for the reopening of tourism in Sta. Ana, Cagayan.

 

The Municipality of Santa Ana has been identified by the DOT as a strategic tourism destination for the implementation of domestic tourism projects. The project has a total cost of One Million Six Hundred Three Thousand Four Hundred Pesos to be released by the DOT.

 

The project includes the conduct of trainings and upskilling of stakeholders to incorporate new normal practices, development of new normal guidelines and health and safety protocols, launching of activity for recalibrated tourism products for domestic market, conduct of product updating for tourism industry stakeholders to assist them in planning for tourism recovery and collaboration activity with local airline route managers and charter operators.

 

The ceremonial signing of the MOA was participated by the DOT Region 2 team headed by OIC Fanibeth Domingo and the Honorable Mayor Nelson Robinion and Vice Mayor Gaylord Robinson Ibus of LGU Sta. Ana. It was also witnessed by officials from Cagayan Economic Zone Authority (CEZA)
