DOT Conducts Site Inspection and Validation in Nueva Vizcaya The Department of Tourism, Region 2 recently conducted an assessment of the Health and Safety Protocols of various Tourism Destinations in the Province of Nueva Vizcaya.

The tourism destinations include the towns of Santa Fe, Aritao, Dupax Del Sur, Dupax Del Norte, Bambang and Bayombong. These towns have great potential for agri-farm, historical, cultural, adventure and ecotourism experiences as well as tourism service providers.

 

 

The Tourism Destinations were identified through the Product Development which involves the process of itinerary making, tour packaging and branding.

 

The purpose of the visit is to assess the readiness of these towns in the reopening of tourism in the region. The trip also validated the viability of the new tourism circuit created for the Province of Nueva Vizcaya for the New Normal scenario.

 

The DOT inspection team met with the Local Chief Executives, Municipal Tourism Officers and private stakeholders of each town to reiterate the importance of establishing the Health and Safety Guidelines in the reopening of their destinations and businesses.

 

 

The DOT team also met with Provincial Tourism Officer Marichelle Costales together with the President of Nueva Vizcaya Travel Agency and Tour Operators Association, Mr. Rolando Farinas and the President of Nueva Vizcaya Hotel, Resort and Restaurant Association Ms. Ma. Nonette L. Tiam.

 

During the dialogue, the inspection team encouraged the private stakeholders to be DOT accredited and to acquire necessary permits to operate and to support the DOT in all tourism related endeavors in the Province.

 

This newly created tourism circuit in the province of Nueva Vizcaya will soon be launched as an output of the Product Development initiatives of the Department of Tourism, Region 2.
