DOT Conducts Product Validation and Inspection for Quirino : Your Basket of Happiness!

The Department of Tourism, in partnership with national travel trade groups are conducting a site validation and inspection in the Province of Quirino for the Quirino: Your Basket of Happiness! tourism circuit from November 16- 20, 2021.

 

 

This was announced by the Department of Tourism, Region 2 office as it welcomed a team of experts from different travel outfitters in the country. They are joined by officials from the Department of Tourism.

The validation team experienced wakeboarding activities at the Quirino Watersports Complex (QWC) in the town of Cabarroguis. Aside from wakeboarding, Cabarroguis town is also famous as a go-to destination for Motocross enthusiasts in the country.

The group also went waterfalls hopping to explore four waterfalls in the Municipality of Diffun. The town of Diffun also prides itself of the Baguio Village showcasing the indigenous culture of the Ifugaos and other gastronomic products by the local villagers.

Other activities offered by the Quirino: Your Basket of Happiness! Tourism Circuit include rubber tubing, cliff diving and boating activities at the Governors’ Rapids Ecotourism area; Aglipay Caves and Campsite for Forest Bathing; Quirino Experimental Station for farm tourism experience and Gamis Fossilized Flower Making lessons.

The national travel trade group conducting the validation and site inspection are composed of Cesar Cruz, General Manager of TRIPS, Inc.; Nimha Karay, Chief Operations Manager of CTPH Travel; Kristoffer Kim Paollo S. Guzman, President of Ellen’s Travel; Lysander Jaison Yang, General Manager of Travel 68Warehouse, Inc.; Edna Faustino, Product Development Manager of CCT 168 Travel and Tours.
Completing the team are officers from the Office of Product and Market Development (OPMD) and Office of Branding and Marketing Communications of the Department of Tourism.

The tourism circuit of Quirino has undergone a Product Development Process and is being prepared for its compliance to public health and safety under the greater normal. The province prides itself as a recipient of various capacity building programs and other projects including Tourism Industry Skills programs, Domestic Tourism Development Program and Tourism Road Infrastructure Projects.

Travel Protocols to Quirino is still being prepared as it had transition to Alert Level System 3 as of November 17 – 30, 2021.
