The Department of Tourism, Region 2 (DOT-R02) partnered with the Department of Agriculture Regional Field Office No. 02 (DA- FO 02) and the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD, R02) on the conduct of the Kadiwa ni Ani at Kita Agri-Trade Fair cum Filipino Food Month with its Theme: Pagkaing Filipino Susi sa Pagulad at Pagbabago last April 6, 2022 at the Robinson’s Place, Tuguegarao City, Cagayan.
The event featured various agricultural products such as native delicacies, organic and fresh agricultural products from the different DOT-Accredited farm sites and Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises in the region.
Regional Director Fanibeth T. Domingo was very grateful for its partnership with the Department of Agriculture particularly on the farm tourism programs and activities of the DOT. Aside from the natural and man-made attractions in the region, food is also one of the reasons why the region draws visitors. Farm Tourism is one of the Department’s tourism portfolios for development.
Intensifying farm tourism in the region will provide economic opportunities that will increase employment for the locals which may result to sustainable tourism exploration and experience for the visitors.
The Kadiwa ni Ani at Kita Program is an important activity for the development of Agri-Tourism in the Region. This is also a way of
increasing awareness to the Buy Local, Eat Local program of the Department of Agriculture.
