Department of Tourism, Region 2 Elevates Service Excellence in Tuguegarao City Through Filipino Brand of Service Excellence Training

The Department of Tourism, Region 2 (DOT-Region 2) successfully conducted the Filipino Brand of Service Excellence (FBSE) training for the Tricycle Operators and Drivers Associations of the City of Tuguegarao. The two-day event, held on August 1 and 2, aimed to enhance the service standards of frontliners in the city’s tourism industry.

The FBSE training, a collaborative effort between the DOT-Region 2 and the Local Government Unit of Tuguegarao City, marks a significant milestone in promoting service excellence and hospitality in the region. The Department of Tourism’s initiative to empower tricycle drivers and operators, considered as vital frontliners in the city’s tourism sector, is expected to elevate the overall visitor experience.

Honorable Mayor Maila Rosario Ting-Que, graced the event with her presence and delivered an inspiring message to the participants. She emphasized the pivotal role of tricycle drivers and operators as the first point of contact for tourists visiting Tuguegarao City. Mayor Ting-Que expressed her utmost appreciation for their dedication in representing the city and acknowledged the importance of providing outstanding service to visitors.

The training sessions were skillfully delivered by Mr. Romeo Caranguian, Jr., the Senior Tourism Operations Officer of the DOT-Region 2 and a Filipino Brand of Service Excellence Regional Level 1 Trainer. His engaging teaching style contributed significantly to the success of the training, ensuring that the participants gained valuable insights and knowledge.

Throughout the duration of the event, the presence of Ms. Gina Adducul, the City Tourism Officer, and Mr. Noy, the Tricycle Regulatory Unit Head, demonstrated the shared commitment of the local government and tourism officials in nurturing a culture of service excellence in Tuguegarao City.

The Filipino Brand of Service Excellence training equipped the tricycle drivers and operators with essential skills in effective communication, customer engagement, cultural sensitivity, and conflict resolution, among other key areas. By focusing on these crucial aspects, the DOT-Region 2 aims to create a welcoming and memorable experience for tourists and promote the city as a prime tourism destination in the Philippines.
