Cauayan City Government Lauds DOT-R2’s Efforts at Boosting Local Tourism

CAUAYAN CITY, Isabela – The city government here led by Mayor Bernard Faustino M. Dy cited the efforts of the Department of Tourism, Region 2, in boosting local tourism following a slump brought about by the worldwide health pandemic.

 

 

City Administrator Jose L. Abad, who represented Mayor Dy during the opening of the Regional Tourism Forum and Awards Night here, in his welcome message, said staging this forum is among the many ways to revitalize the region’s tourism industry.

 

With the different tourism stakeholders in attendance to share their accomplishments, on-going programs and projects, experiences as well as plans, interests and vigor towards better tourism industry will be ignited, Abad said.

 

“While the industry propels the growth and economy of our city and the entire country, we must admit that it is this industry that was hardest hit and most affected by this pandemic,” he said.

 

“Let’s thank, nevertheless, the digital technologies and solutions like digital tourism promotions, contactless and cashless transactions as we encourage establishments to continue adopting health and safety protocols in our tourism activities,” he added.
