ADVISORY NO. 06 28 December 2020
This is to reiterate the directive of the Department of Tourism that accommodation establishments operating under Modified General Community Quarantine (MGCQ) and General Community Quarantine (GM as quarantine or isolation facility for Locally Stranded Individuals (LSIs) or Returning Overseas Filipino (ROFs) or as quarters for health workers are prohibited from providing accommodation for guests traveling for the purpose of business/leisure/staycation.
The directive is in accordance with DOT Administrative Order No. 2020-002-C entitled “Revised Guidelines on the Operations of Hotels and Other Accommodation Establishments under a Community Quarantine”.
In this connection, we wish to remind all accommodation establishments in Cagayan Valley Region (Region 2) regarding the issuance of AO 2020-002-C. Accommodation establishments who fail to comply will subject the said establishment to appropriate fines and penalties including the revocation of Certificate of Authority to Operate (CAD) and/or DOT Accreditation.
This Advisory aims to ensure the safe transition of the region from its existing quarantine level to the New Normal and facilitate the gradual restoration of economic activity and promotion of the recovery of the tourism industry.
